Who can become an Association member

Any person aged over 21, who is interested in the activities of independent directors in Russian companies, can become a Member of the Independent Directors Association.

Upon joining the Association, members are granted the status of either ‘Director’ or ‘Expert’.

The status of ’Director’ can be granted to:

persons aged over 25,

with at least three years’ work experience as a manager or a member of a board of directors in a registered company

or

with at least one year of work experience as a manager or a board member in a registered company, in addition to attending a specialized training course within the Association, or programs in an academic institution recognized by the Association (The Academy of the National Economy and the State University higher School of Economics).

The status of ’Expert’ can be granted to:

persons aged over 21,

recognized specialists in the field of corporate management, who are not directors,

or

persons with a higher education degree in the field of economics, management or law, in addition to attending a specialized training course within the Association, or programs in an academic institution recognized by the Association (The Academy of the National Economy and the State University higher School of Economics).

Upon joining the Association, the status of ‘Director’ or ‘Expert’ is assigned by resolution of the Membership and Ethics Committee.

All members of the Association, regardless of their status, have equal membership rights.
